*What is the difference between a Skilled Nursing Facility and an Assisted Living Facility?

Assisted Living Center
If someone has good mobility and is transitioning from an independent living situation; assisted living is likely more appropriate. Assisted Living Facilities typically do not provide 24/7 care and offer staff to assist with daily care and activities.

Skilled Nursing Center
Skilled Nursing care is most appropriate for people following a hospitalization, or a decline in health. We offer 24/7 nursing care. This offers you a more intensive care for someone with limited mobility and looking to regain and recover. We focus on improving a patient’s health overall so that you or your loved one can return home stronger and more independent.While we do offer these therapy and recovery services we also accept patients in need of longterm care and other needed care levels.

*What are the visiting hours?

We have no restrictions on visiting hours however, we lock the doors between sundown and sunrise for security purposes.  If you wish to visit during those times you can ring our doorbell and a door attendent will greet you at the door.

*ls internet, WIFI and TV available?

TV’s are provided in every room and Wifi and Internet are available to all residents and their guests.

* Is smoking allowed at the facility?

We do allow tobacco use at our facility in designate areas.

*ls there access to a telephone so the residents can talk with loved ones?

Yes. We provide four portable phones for resident use.

*Can Children visit?

Yes, children are welcome! We actually encourage it!

*ls there a private area for visiting?

You may reserve our Resident Lounge at any time with reasonable notice for family functions, events, parties, etc.

*What should we bring?

We recommend bringing plenty of clothing including; sweat pants, t-shirts, shorts, jeans, socks, a pair of shoes, and any other preferred clothing item.
If the patient has a cell phone we always encourage they bring the cell phone and charger. Any essential items that are needed such as; eye glasses, dentures, etc. can also be brought. Do know that there is no need to bring your medications, as we are responsible for providing those for our residents. If there are items that could help the resident feel more comfortable or “at-home” like a certain blanket or pillow, pictures, books, or more, residents are welcome to bring those items in.
If you would like your laundry done at the facility, we do offer on-site laundry services.Please notify the Admission Coordinator upon admission. If the family, friend or caregiver would like to be responsible for laundry, please provide us that information upon admission and we will notify housekeeping to leave the clothes for pick up. We do ask that you provide a hamper or container with a lid.
All Clothes are washed in an industrial washing machine of 180 degrees. Please avoid bringing clothes that need special care or are subject to damage or fading. Our Housekeeping Department will put last names on the tags of clothing and all belongings are marked and listed on an inventory list.
When items are brought in check with the C.N.A. on the hall to assist with marking the items. Remember that each time you remove items or add items the inventory record will need to be updated.

*How is laundry handled?

If you would like your laundry washed at the facility, we do offer on-site laundry services.
Please notify the Admission Coordinator upon admission. If the family, friend, or caregiver would like to be responsible for laundry, please provide us that information upon admission and we will notify housekeeping to leave the clothes for pick up. We do ask the family or friend provides a hamper with a lid.

All Clothes are washed in an industrial washing machine of 180 degrees. Please avoid bringing clothes that need special care or are subject to damage or fading. Our house keeping department will put last names on the tags of clothing to prevent mix ups and we will also keep all belongings on an inventory list.

*How do loved ones receive mail?

Our Activities Department delivers all mail to resident. If letters need to be read to residents they will so that as well. If you’re wanting to send mail to a resident, here is an example of what it could look like:

*Who do I talk to about my food preferences?

We have a Certified Dietary Manager that will interview you or your loved one upon admission. There you will discuss your personalized diet plan, special needs, food likes and dislikes, allergies, etc.

*Can visitors bring food in?

We do allow visitors to bring food to their loved one. We do ask that you do not bring any foods containing raw eggs, we do not allow any alcoholic beverages and it is also asked that any food brought in goes along with the diet plan. It is always a great idea to check in with the resident’s Dietary Manager or Nurse to see what may be allowed.
Additionally, for sanitary reasons, we cannot bring any food from outside the facility into our kitchen. We cannot heat up food or keep food in our fridge.

*Do you have a beauty shop?

We do offer Beauty Shop services.
Services offered are style and cuts, mustache and beard trim, nail trim, manicure, perms, shampooing, bang trim and coloring. Prices vary depending on service requested. These prices will be available for you at admission and are posted at the Beauty Shop. To make an appointment sign the clipboard outside the Beauty Shop or ask a staff member to make an appointment.

*Are pets allowed at the facility?

Pets are therapeutic to Residents and we encourage pet visits. Friendly animals are allowed at the facility with a copy in hand of vaccination records. Please coordinate pet visits with Activities. They have a list of the required vaccinations.

*Who do I talk to about billing and paperwork?

The Admission Coordinator will guide you through all paperwork at admission and will give you a thorough review of the facility, rules and regulations, pay type, and many other concerns you may have. If you have more extensive questions we do have A/R Specialists that can answer any financial, insurance, rates, or billing questions.
